Slacking off

Apparently, some people feel like I have been slacking on my motherly duty of taking thousands of pictures of my child. I will admit, the photographer in me hasn't been feeling quite up to par the past little while. I think it is pure exhaustion! Having an 18 month old is definitely tiring and Dylan is doing a good job of making sure that I have to crawl into bed at the end of each day. I have, however, managed to take a few pictures of him over the past week. We had a 'discovery' day last week. It involved running around a huge open field at the local town park. Dylan 'discovered' rocks, trash, batting cages, holes in trees, etc. Upon our return home, I decided it was time to introduce him to the wonderful world of Play Doh. I think you can tell by his face that he really enjoyed himself.

Dylan has crazy, curly hair...just like his Dad. Everyone keeps telling me to leave it because it is so cute. And, I will admit, it is adorable. His hair, however, was getting out of control. After his fun filled discovery day, I decided it was time to give him yet another hair cut because, not only is his hair crazy and curly...it grows like a weed. I've already lost count of how many haircuts this boy has had. I think I did a pretty good job for not having any training. These last two pictures are from this morning. We don't have a yard, but Dylan loves to be outside. So, every once in a while I open the balcony door and just let him run in and out.

He is learning how to blow bubbles. Unfortunately, right now it comes out as spitting. I'm sure he will eventually get the hang of it.

Dylan didn't want to come in when it was nap time. I thought he was following me inside. Instead, he was slamming the door behind me. He is definitely an independent spirit.

Holy Terror!

At 17 months, Dylan is fully into the terrible two's. His new favorite thing to do is bite his mom. Now, before anyone goes making suggestions, I have read every book, every website, talked to other moms, talked to the pediatrician -- you name it, I've tried it. When I try to discipline the kid, he thinks it's hilarious. Yesterday, after two hours of biting and trying to discipline, I had enough. I just put Dylan in his bedroom and shut the door.

For the record, he was overly tired. He had woken up at 4:51 am and only took 30 minute nap around 9 am. I had tried to get him to take another nap all afternoon. 5 pm is when he got locked in his room. Around 5:30, when Mike got home from work, I decided to go see what Dylan was up to. The following picture is what I found...

He pulled those blankets and toys out of his crib.
