The Y Chromosome

I decided that I wanted to take Dylan to get his picture taken to capture his fun personality at 18 months. Wow...perhaps not the best idea, but I'm a naive first time mom so I did it anyway. Dylan decided that the photography studio was his own personal playground and would not sit still for even two seconds. Luckily, the photographer was easy going and just took a bunch of action shots and I was able to find several that I really liked. I think they show Dylan's personality perfectly!

BATMAN!!!!!

Just what every girl needs...her own personal super hero!

These totally awesome pj's come equipped with a cape that can be attached via velcro. Being a super hero can be tough, sweaty work. So, at the end of a long day the shirts come off so the muscles can breathe.

Oh What a Zoo

The North Carolina State Zoo is about an hour away from where we live. I have been waiting for the perfect day to take Dylan to see the animals. Last Thursday, the weather was absolutely gorgeous and I could not wait any longer. I love seeing all the animals and I was so excited to share that with Dylan. He did not disappoint me.

Because the monkeys and gorillas are my favorite, I made a beeline for those exhibits first. Dylan thought it was hilarious that the gorilla was eating a banana. He just kept point and laughing at him.

My little monkey...having a snack.

Apparently, the elephants look like cows. Everytime an elephant walked by us, Dylan would say 'Moo Moooooooo.'
We had a great day at the zoo. I have a feeling we will be visiting the animals a few times over the next several months. I love fun but cheap entertainment!

Mom's Little Helper

Dylan has become quite the helper around the house. No matter what I'm trying to clean, he always wants to be right there. Most of the time I am happy that he wants to help. Recently he has taken to trying to throw the glasses out of the dishwasher - not so helpful. So, I have been on the hunt for chores that are a little more toddler friendly. The Swiffer seems to be the perfect fit. He will sweep my floors for hours if I let him.

I've been searching for an activity that Dylan can do on our deck. It seems that most outdoor toys are made for yards. When I was browsing around Target one day, I came across the water tables. I'm not sure how I never knew about them before, but it has been the perfect solution! Dylan loves being on the deck and playing in the water with his boats. It usually allows me a chance to relax. He plays in the water and I sit in a chair and read for an hour or so. We both get to enjoy the sun without having to leave the comfort of home.
